There are various theories concerning the human impact and influence of global climate change. These theories such as fossil fuel usage and inappropriate land usage have been debated for decades.
Through mainstream education, in documentaries such as An Inconvenient Truth, as well as the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change public awareness and acceptance has increased in recent years.
Climate change is expected to be a significant topic of the G-8 summit, and a topic in which the European Union has taken a significant lead on. The European Union has set up the first global carbon market in an attempt to slow the global climate change.
