Ethanol By-Product Prices
Prices of ethanol by-products vary over time, across different products, and regionally across the country. Further, success in obtaining price information on these products varies notably by product and region. USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA-AMS) provides weekly price quotes (at the ethanol plant) for dried (+/- 90% dry matter), modified wet (+/- 50% dry matter), and wet (+/- 30% dry matter) distillers products for the Eastern Cornbelt (see current prices). Public collection of these prices has only recently been initiated with historical data being available only back to February 2006 (see chart). A longer historical series for dried distillers grains with solubles prices is available for the Lawrenceburg, IN market (see chart; see current price).
